- “I make progress, hit a roadblock, and don’t know what to do next.”
- “I second-guess every decision. I’m not sure if I’m doing it ‘right.’”
- “I get overwhelmed and just … stop. Because who can I ask for help?”
Oh-h-h! That last sentence is a killer for people like my friend Fancy Ruff-Wagner and me. Fancy shared these quotes – from a few of her students – in a subscriber email I received from her.
We both hear this from our clients, usually j-u-s-t before we get them out of a big mess they’ve created for themselves … because they didn’t ask for help.
Fancy told me her customers didn’t want to ‘bother her’ with questions.
And that meant they couldn’t finish their projects.
Ms. Ruff-Wagner is a photo-keeping and scrapbooking expert. She gently but firmly tells her team what I tell mine: “I’m here to help. You’re not bothering me.”
And we both mean that. It’s why we’re here.
Become a ‘finisher’
Fancy and I love it when members of our ‘tribes’ ask for help.
For example, if you’re working with me and adding peace and calm to your life, that adds a warm fuzzy to my day.
“Working with me” can be as simple as
- Collecting ideas from the articles behind the buttons, below.
- Grabbing a helpful aid or two from my Resources page.
- Finding ways to slow down and smell the roses (as it were 😊).
- Considering live or self-paced training.
Go for it, as long as you’ll ask for help when you need it.
Then you can be a ‘finisher’!
In closing …
Another item in Fancy Ruff-Wagner’s email caught my eye.
While referring to her bulleted list (above) of client quotes, she told us
“It got me thinking: why do some folks actually finish organizing their
family photos while others get caught in that start–stop loop? 🤔
It’s not because the ‘finishers’ are naturally more
organized or have endless time.
It’s because they’re not trying to figure it out all by themselves.”
I love that. Fancy and I enjoy using our respective companies to help our readers and clients add some peace and calm to their projects.
And to become ‘finishers.’
