12 Days Of Non-Overwhelm 2024
DAY 1
A specialist M.D. slapped me with 3 weeks of bed rest and a prescription for huge, honkin’ iron pills (to get my blood back in some semblance of order).
Guess what? Others stepped in, and the 3 weeks of important tasks I’d crammed-to-overflowing on my calendar still got done. And done very well, I might add.
Learning to say “No” changed my life. Check out this article/audio for some ideas on transforming yours, and remember: the world will revolve without our input!
DAY 2
My dad was shocked. I rarely used a recipe when I made dinner for our family. “You can’t cook like that!” Of course, you can. I do it all the time.
Years later, I was pleased to hear a famous chef agree … not every meal must be a masterpiece.
He said there is a time and place for recipes, but “If you’re in the mood for crumbled hamburger with some barbeque sauce and veggies stirred in, do that and add a salad. Done.”
It’s OK to non-overwhelm a meal at home. 😊
And this is an excellent time of year to try it!
DAY 3 (Gift)
Sometimes, it’s hard to remember: we can’t control people or situations, but we *can* control our reactions to them.
“But Kathie …!” I didn’t say it would be easy, but I know from experience it’s doable.
Here’s a quick article/audio, plus a free instant download graphic. I keep this art near my desk. 😎
Here’s hoping it also helps you create peace and calm moments.
Adopt the phrase, “It is what it is.” It’s an excellent non-overwhelm(er).
DAY 4
Oh. my.
I’m sure someone out there is stumbling over this one. “But … it’s family!” Yes. And you have a family in your house, too, even if it’s one person – you.
December 24 or 26? We’ll be there. But we save one day a year for assured peace, calm, and reverence.
No one comes in, and we don’t go out. Try it, but be ready for the guilt trips. This is only December 5th. You have time to practice your ‘No.’ 😊
Add non-overwhelm to Christmas!
DAY 5 (Gift)
My book includes a tidbit from one of my mentors.
He suggested I ditch the tech and get a paper planner since we remember better when strategizing in the real world.
He was spot on, and I haven’t looked back. This techie went ‘paperfull’ 😊 instead of paperless on this one.

DAY 6 (Gift)
When training about goals success, I often find myself begging people to consider their goals, not someone else’s version of, “But you would be so good at …”
If it’s not something we’re passionate about, we won’t stay motivated when the going gets tough in the middle.
Add a win and peace to your life. Whenever possible, pursue only your goals.
Grab my GoalsTEST infographic. I use it when making the Yes/No decision about an objective.
I hope it helps you, too!
DAY 7
The Husband and I have always lived beneath our means.
This has automatically added peace and calm to our everyday.
You and I can non-overwhelm our lives by saving for the ‘wants’ while sensibly acquiring the ‘needs.’
I can attest – it makes a difference.
We save at least 10% at our house, give away at least that much (time and/or money, depending on the income), and live on the rest.
And we remember: the ‘wants’ are on the save-for list!
DAY 8
In this past week, you’ve worked on 7 different goals. Yup! Everything from learning to say “No,” to deciding to live beneath your means.
You may not be there yet, but you’re working on them.
Let’s step back a moment and consider the end game of your non-overwhelm and goals journey.
This December 2023 article/audio considers where to begin with every objective:
Figure out the steps to reach that sensible, doable goal.
’Cause once you get it done, you can relax a bit.

DAY 9
I’m bad about following this advice.
The worst part: we’re supposed to have morning sunlight.
From outside. Not through a window. Groggy grumble.
But when I do this, the rest of my day is energized. It’s a biology thing, so there’s no getting around it.
I know from experience I’ll feel better and will have a more energetic, peaceful, non-overwhelmed day.
I’m just hoping for a non-freezing temperatures morning. 😎 Try it!
DAY 10
It’s time to start creating your electronic and paper folders, including your tax day documentation.
Yes, tax day! Get all of it done at a slow-and-steady-peace-and-calm pace. Starting today.
For 2025, you’ll have the process down and it will be easier. You don’t have to figure out the ‘how.’
I’ve done that part, because I got tired of chasing it all.
Take a look/listen, find sensible real-world ways to non-overwhelm the paperwork monster, and see why I call myself ‘a lazy perfectionist.’ 😊

DAY 11
Because it’s still so hurtful, I debated about including this article/audio in my ‘12 Days’ series.
But maybe my story will help you reach a better place. Business, family, (perhaps former ) friends. It works in all three areas.
An unthinkable event that wasn’t your fault. But it spilled over into your life.
Believe me: if you take the high road with your part of the solution, you will never regret it.
And that’s a huge gift of non-overwhelm.
Give it to yourself.
DAY 12 (Gift)
Thank you for taking this ‘12 Days’ journey with me! I hope it’s added some peace and calm to your life.
As my Christmas gift, click here for my colorful, quick-read eBook,5 ESSENTIALS for Crushing a Resolution. (I print and use this as a mini workbook, adding notes as I pursue an objective.)
It’s an excellent tool for starting 2025 with a few goals success ideas under your belt.
You’ll find a printer-friendly copy of the checklist at the end of the book.
I print mine and scribble all over it when I tackle a new goal.
Take a look, thanks again, and Merry Christmas!
