[QW31] Make the most of ‘Pause’

by | Jun 10, 2025

[ Quick Win posts – QWs – are brief items to help non-overwhelm your day. Enjoy! ]

A few months ago, my copy mentor – Belinda Weaver of Copywrite Matters – gave us a set of habit-builder challenges.

As you might expect, the one about pausing our schedules immediately caught my eye.

Habit Builder #5 spoke to ‘the pause’ and making the most of our time once we’re there. That has non-overwhelm written all over it, and I have permission to pass Belinda’s thoughts on to you.

[QW31] Make the most of ‘Pause’

“Taking a moment to celebrate your wins is more than just a feel-good exercise. It’s the catalyst you need to propel yourself forward with unstoppable momentum.

“Many of us are busy, busy, busy, never pausing to recognise how much we’ve achieved. We’re weighed down by to-do lists and unmet expectations, always measuring the gaps and not the gains.

“The solution? A moment of reflection and celebration.”

~ Belinda Weaver

Borrow from Belinda’s expertise

We’re all working hard to non-overwhelm parts of our lives.

I’m gonna borrow from Belinda’s idea and give all of us an assignment:

Sit quietly for 15 minutes.
Look back over your ‘wins’ for the past 4 months.

Write them down and review them often.

All ‘wins’ count.
None are too small.

“But Kathie, what counts as a small win?”

Wellllll, let’s see …

  • Completed two pages for a paper due in July. WIN.
  • Didn’t yell at your kid who would try anyone’s patience. WIN.
  • Completed a project a week ahead of schedule. WIN.
Like that. 😎
